Ever since he was five years old, Colin has been passionate about combating climate change. At Phillips Exeter he is a head E-Proctor. In this role he comes up with environmental initiatives for the dorms at Exeter, and is active in the Environmental Action Committee. In these roles, and in his position as head of the Student Life Committee on Student Council, Colin has worked to make Phillips Exeter more sustainable.
Aoife is a senior at the Winsor School in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a co-head of her school’s environmental club and one of the students who spearheaded the project to get solar panels installed at her school. Additionally, she is a member of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey’s inaugural Youth Climate Council. Her favorite subjects at school are Chemistry and Math, but she is also passionate about fashion and music.
Sasha K goes to public school in Los Angeles and participates in 826LA (826la.org) a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. The program director describes Sasha as "A hardworking and humble artist who uses her creativity and astonishing writing skills to bring attention to the issues of climate change and global warming that she is extremely passionate about."
Cash Whitney was born in Santa Maria, in 2008. He is currently a freshman at Dunn School. This is the first time he has done photography on a large scale, and he has enjoyed getting to use his creativity in photos to take multiple layers to an image. Cash particularly enjoys self-portraits to allow him to show deeper levels of emotion and personality through images. Cash believes that photos can hold a deeper meaning and that portraits shouldn’t just represent a person, but the soul behind them as well.
Arinze Okigbo is a student at Thacher School in Ojai, California. He has a keen interest in technology and how it affects our society and environment. As part of his passion, he oversees a non-profit article website called TechBuzz.dev that provides up-to-date and informative articles on the intersection between technology and various societal issues.
Simone McGraw is a senior at Thacher School in Ojai, California. She grew up on Bainbridge Island, is Concert Master in the school orchestra, and captain of the Varsity tennis team. She plans to study public policy.
Juliet Falk is a driven and passionate junior at the Bronx High School of Science in NYC, known for her unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in her community and fostering a connection with the natural world. She is a proud member of Model UN and DECA, and is captain of the girls varsity volleyball team. Looking ahead, Juliet aspires to pursue a career that allows her to combine her love for the natural world, community engagement, and problem-solving.
